I'm interested in getting a domain for my business.

Everything in the USA is alot cheaper than Australia...

but im not too keen registering and hosting overseas.

Any reccommendations?

Remember to google search for coupon codes. Do your research and you will find this information to be the most accurate. I buy around 3 domains a week for clients and my own projects and i would not use anything but the above company's.. be car full of affiliate company's that resell these 2 major players products.

Unfortunately GO1.com.au dose not mention were there data center is on the site that is the first tell tale sign of a middle man, after a quick ping and traceroot i find its sitting in a stack with Theplanet so thats bullshit to say Go1.com.au is a birsbane hosting company your site is siting in TEXAS!, most of the internet are middle men.

Doing a trace on this site (brisbaneforums.com) i find it leaves australia goes threw san jose, los Angeles and ends up in a Dallas, so this site is hosted in Dallas USA with a famous company once again called theplanet.com. So its true to say the best hosting is overseas, if not why would this Brisbane site be hosted in Texas (not to mention that go1.com.au 0_o)?

...Ok more research show the owner of this site (brisbaneforums) purchased hosting from royalwebhosting.com and ....YEP YOU GOT IT!! royalwebhosting buy space from the one and only theplanet.com... now im really confused.....

Seems like everyone is a online marketer now days you have to wade threw the crap!
unfortunately i can see threw BrisGirl84's attempt to make money of you. (notice she is a quest).

I agree with Godaddy being the best for domains.

As for webhosting I have been using www.tamranda.com for the past 5 years or so... 99% uptime and efficient and friendly staff.
