Inveterate arty glam pomp rock L.A. brother duo Sparks have delivered their 21st album called "Exotic Creatures Of The Deep" recently. This innovative duo did an exhaustive 21 consecutive gigs in London in May till mid-June to celebrate its release.
Sparks may not be an instantly recognised band in Australia, but they've influenced a great number of other bands like U2, Duran Duran, Split Enz, Human League, Soft Cell, Franz Ferdinand, Talking Heads, 10cc, The Smiths, The Darkness and Pet Shop Boys.
The new album is a good mix of their love of classical music together with their glam rock roots and synth pop ranging from the cute reggae pop number "Good Morning", to overblown ballads like "I"ve Never Been High" and "This Is The Renaissance" as well as some good rocking stompers like "I Can't Believe That You Would Fall For All The Crap In This Song" and "Lighten Up, Morrissey".
