Any specific suggestions on what would you expect from the new skin?
How should it look?
Colors, images, etc. |

Some pointers on what I feel is a good skin:
1. Fixed width: This is a personal preference and I feel a fixed-width site looks more "sleek" than one with a liquid design.
2. Warm colors: A combination of blue and gray (for example) are pleasing to the eye. Anyone can keep staring at it without hurting their eyes. People come here to interact (read others' posts and reply). In doing so they spend quite a bit of time. Therefore, colors should be inviting.
3. Minimize images: I don't know how many users on these forums are on dial-up. Consider them. Plus, less images means your site will load faster on broadband too.
I would also look into better placement of banners, using external CSS stylesheet (you are not using them at the moment) and some more things that are not very important at the moment.
I have already volunteered to help. I am willing to share what I know and/or give some time for the betterment of these boards.
