I'm an Aussie too and already in Brisbane, so if you want any info from an Australian perspective *L* feel free to PM me....

Hi, i'm new too and in Melbourne Australia. I am dreaming of the day I can go to Brisbane but I heard that it is really hard to get a job, that pays well at least, specially to reside in the heart of brisbane, is that true?

Jobs are plentiful but yes, it is the pay that ones have to consider... in brisbane you compete for a job against third world people whom according to piece of paper has a degree that is equal to your and they are willing to work for a lot less as their currency is so weak that 100AUD to you is dinner for one but that same amount is a family outing with dinner for all!

now, what I find interesting is that so many Aussies replied that I never seem reply in the General or Romance forum???

Hi Emily,
I have only moved to Brisbane a few weeks back. Also from Sydney.
What will you be doing here? And do you know where will you live?
Sorry to many questions, would love to keep in touch.

Barbora

hmmm. No more Brisbane for me.... - handbag14 - 09-13-2005

Well the unfortunate situation has occured, and the "supposed" love of my life has called it quits, and I no longer have a reason to move over.

I was very excited and passionate about moving over....but i guess the expat life got to him and he's been having too much fun without me, and has now seen another 'light'. Anyway, men.....!!!!!

so there goes that chapter of my life, and have decided to stay in sydney. Had quit my job, sold the car, bought the ticket, moved home to save.... if nothing else, at least my finances are looking much better.

perhaps i should hire a hitman??? Just jokes, were probably not in the right political climate for me to make jokes like that!!

Anyway, life moves on, mine will be in Sydney at least for the next 6 months.

- Fraad - 09-13-2005

I say, who cares about him .. you should make the move anyway .. since you have already done that much .. might as well just do it

Also, You will meet lots of charming men out here Tongue and as added value they all drives porches lol

- handbag14 - 09-14-2005

problem is its not that big a town is it??? don't you kind of run into people all the time... please excuse me if I am completely mis-informed.

A nice charming man with a porsche sounds pretty good, but a nice charming intelligent and witty man would be much better.

However, I don't have a job in brisbane, and had been finding it pretty tough to get one from Australia. I don't know - sounds like a pretty big move on your own, and i certainly don't want to come over and give him the impression I am a stalker. i might be a bit screwed in the head - but that's entirely his fault! lol!!!

Alwayz welcome when u r ready - saminbrisbane - 09-22-2005
