Al Shamil cable or DSL - which is better?
#1
I'm planning to sign up with the Al Shamil (?) always on service from Telstra but I see I have a choice of cable or DSL (both available where I am).

Which one would you recommend?

#2
I suggest DSL. It's more stable than cable.

well it will depend on ur internet needs.
i personaly use dsl.
cable would offer more but rumors have sadi that dsl is more reliable.
i havent tried the alternative so i would know but i enjoy what i have and i'm considering upgrading it from its curretn 384kb status to 1mb.

Thanks for the advice 8) , seems to consistently favor DSL...

Have read cable has higher bandwidth but is more dependent on how heavily your neighbours are using it. That's be a hard one to figure out beforehand though.

If anyone else is interested, http://www.dslreports.com is a useful site (although has very little information on Australia).
